Best Tennis Racket for Beginners – Wilson Impact Tennis Racket

1

When you are shopping for the best tennis racket, there are several factors that need to be considered.

Three important factors to consider are the weight of the racket, the shape of the head, and the size of the head.

The racket's weight is a key factor.  The more a racket weighs, the greater control the racket offers.  Conversely, the lighter a racket is, the more nimble it will feel in the player's hands and will allow them to have much more control over where the ball is hit.

The shape of the tennis racket's head can come in a variety of shapes.  Typically, tennis rackets have an oval shape to their head.  The sweet spot, the area where you will have the best impact,  is located towards the lower portion of the racket head.  As an alternative, you may want to consider a racket with a tear drop shaped head.  The tear drop shaped head usually has a much a large, and therefore more forgiving, sweet spot.  In fact, oftentimes, the entire head of the racket can be considered the sweet spot.

The size of the tennis racket's head is a third variable and equally important factor.  The larger the head size is, the larger sweet spot will be.  Naturally, those tennis players who are just starting out may prefer to have a larger sweet spot.  This will allow for greater likelihood of returning the ball, however, there is a trade off.  When the head is larger, control is lessened. So, you may be returning more balls, but they may not be going where you want them to go.

So you can see that different rackets will work better for different players.  If you are a just starting out, and would consider yourself a beginning tennis player, this racket would be an excellent option for you.

It Works

Reviewer: Poogy,
If you want to impress others, have more money than you know what to do with, or are skilled enough that you know for a fact that you will play better with a racquet that has specific characteristics that this one lacks, buy another racquet. If you just want a decent racquet that reliably does what a raquet should do, you don't need to pay more than this. Because of advances in technology, this plays better than most of the racquets that were available, regardless of price, ten years ago, so if you're not happy with your game, you won't be able to blame this racquet.
Great beginner racquet

I started taking tennis classes at my community college a couple weeks ago. I picked up this racquet because it was cheap and light with a big head. It has performed very well and my game is good enough to play with some of the more experienced players that have $200+ racquets.

I bought this recently and already I think this racquet is great. The main reason I bought this is because this is light and oversized, great for beginners like me (plus this racquet isn't so expensive). But I think this racquet is good any level player. Highly recommend it!!

I bought 2 of these for my [...] son and I to learn to play tennis together. Overall, we are both very satisfied ... very light, easy to manage for beginners. Very good value!

Im a begginer playing tennis and I selected this racquet based on the reviews and it was and excellent choice, is has great quality materials. The only advice that I can give you is to be carefull when selecting the grip size, an incorrect choice can affect your gaming a lot, tipe ''measuring grip size'' in google and measure your size.

As you can see, there are several reviews for satisfied people who have purchased this tennis racket. Since it is geared towards beginning tennis players, it is priced at the lower end of the spectrum for rackets. It is lightweight and over-sized, which is ideal for people who are just starting to play the game.  When people are starting out, they need to find a racket.  Some people will just hunt and peck and their local yard sales to see if they can find an appropriate racket. They may uncover a great deal on an infrequently used, quality racket, but the chances of success are low. You are much better off buying a high quality, well reviewed, inexpensive racket.  The Wilson Impact fits that bill.

There are so many rackets on the market, that it is very difficult to determine, which racket makes sense for you. However, since you are now aware of what to look for when shopping for the best tennis racket, you can find the racket that is right for you. We have access to an enormous inventory of tennis rackets. Whether you are a seasoned professional, an avid player, a beginner, or somewhere, in between, we can help you find the racket that's right for you.  Our sophisticated search algorithm, in conjunction with ebay, can help you find the tennis racket that you are looking for.  If you would like to see other tennis rackets, click here.
